ChannelSplice

ChannelSplice Server

An optional program for a computer or home server. It builds your lineups once, checks stream health, and sends each screen its lineup, encrypted so only that screen can read it.

Do you need it?

Most people don't. It's for combining and tidying several playlists, removing dead streams before you sit down, or keeping all your playlists and logins on your own hardware. It's included with every plan, free too.

  1. On your account page, choose ChannelSplice Server under Where your channels come from.
  2. Choose Link a server. A code appears; it works once, for 15 minutes.
  3. Enter the code in your server's settings.

Once linked, the server manages all your screens, and playlists kept on the account page are no longer sent. One server per account; its screens count against your plan.

Profiles and groups per screen

The server offers profiles (lineups such as "News" or "Sports"). In Screens, Manage, tick the profiles a screen gets and choose its groups. Group names are private: your server encrypts them for your browser, so you'll be asked for your passphrase to see them.

Switching back

Choose Playlists I add here at the top of the account page. The server is unlinked and your screens get the playlists on the account page instead.
